A brief
history of Arnold Fisher - we established in 1971
to transact general
insurance business in London and The
Home Counties. Rapid growth quickly established
by strong management and a reputation for excellence of service. In
1980 further
expansion occurred through the acquisition of
two important and successful brokerages
in Luton and
Watford.
We had developed a working knowledge of the travel industry, our clientele
included a number of high profile travel clients
Club 18-30, Panorama Holidays,
Uni-jet, Crystal, Jet Set,
Tropical Places, Hayes and Jarvis. When The Package
Holiday
and Package Travel Regulations 1992, were introduced we were able to
find insurance solutions to help our clients comply with
the new regulations.
We rapidly became experts in this specialist field and negotiated full underwriting
authority on behalf of insurers to provide Tour Operators Liability Insurances,
from this the Travel Agents
Office Combined policy was developed, which combines
all of
the general insurance a travel agent could require under one contract.
In 2004 we were acquired by parent company, Alan Turner
Limited, which is also the parent of our sister company, James
Hallam Limited (www.jameshallam.co.uk). Established in 1982,
James Hallam is one of the top 30 independent insurance
brokers in the UK. By
being part of a larger group, this
acquisition has created many opportunities
for Arnold Fisher.
In November 2005, our Travel Agents Office Combined policy
was formally endorsed
by ABTA and the policy was further enhanced to include additional benefits for
ABTA members.
Our policies are primarily underwritten by Royal & SunAlliance Insurance,
who were voted General Insurer of the year at The British Insurance Awards 2006.
In June 2006 we acquired the book of business of Bonding Insurance Agencies,
specialist bond broker for the travel industry. The complimentary business mix
and additional range of products, further allows us to meet the business requirements
of the travel industry.
